Hey Jags, although this year looks a little different, we wanted to make sure you know about all of the teams and clubs that you can participate in. Below you will find a brief description and a video of some clubs that are running this year.

Student Council:

She’s right, when on Student Council, you will develop leadership, friendship, collaboration skills, and so much more! Student Council meets once a week for the entire year! P.S. elections are coming up soon so don’t be afraid to run!

DECA:
Interested in business or developing professional skills? If the answer is yes then DECA is for you!
In brief words, DECA is a club of students who solve realistic business scenarios and problems, ultimately presenting their ideas and solutions to a judge. You will learn SO MUCH about the world of business and compete against the best of the best. DECA meets once a week and or twice if there is a competition coming up. This club is ideal for anyone interested in business as well as if you are looking to improve your communication and critical thinking skills! Invest in your future CTK!

CTK Mentors:
If you are looking for a club to join that is fun, exciting, and you want to make new friends, this is the club for you! The Mentor program is a great way to give grade 9 students an amazing first year!
Applications are currently open for grade 11 and 12 students until April 1st and for more information check out @ctk_mentorson Instagram.
Newspaper:
Looking for a creative outlet or somewhere to showcase your work? The Jaguar Jungle is a great way to express your writing skills and make new friends!
The Newspaper meets once a week for the entire year and articles are posted on Jaguar Jungle like this one! Writers can be fully committed to writing weekly, bi-weekly, or even once a month. Join us for a meeting or explore this website! Believe me you will not be disappointed!
Here are just some of the topics people choose to write about: trending news, short stories of their own, recipes, music recommendations, movie suggestions and so much more!
When choosing a topic, don’t be afraid to get creative and fun because the possibilities are endless!

Student Senate:
Are you looking to lead beyond the halls of Christ the King? If so Student Senate is the place for you! Applications for next year will come out in September so keep a lookout. This club is like student council but works with other schools on a board level. Senate sits down once a month to discuss projects and issues in the school at the board level but you also may meet together as ctk senate to discuss initiatives and touch base about ideas. This club is a great way to get involved in not only our school but, in our whole board!
