This past week, our CTK Cross Country team attended the HCAA Invitational Meet at Kelso Conservation Area in Milton. Prior to the competition, the team had put a great deal of effort into training, holding practices almost every day of the week. Once at the conservation area, the team geared up in their CTK athletic uniforms and began preparing for the races. The grade nine boys raced first, and the grade twelve girls were the last race of the day. Our Jags ran between 4 and 6km, all on challenging courses. Our runners were tasked with running up a small ski hill, and finishing down another hill of equal size. Rocks, branches, and uneven terrain made it harder to compete.
However, our Jags placed very well, with Tristan, Miranda, Charli, Isabella, Maya, Seamus, Nick, and Mark coming in the top five of their respective races! Every team member supported each other throughout the day, spectating the races when they were not competing. Overall, the Cross Country team represented CTK well, and we wish them luck in their next meet on October 20th.
Go Jags go!
