In March 2021, the Dollar General Store in North Carolina was broken into five times. The big question on everyone’s mind was who was the thief and what were they attempting to steal? Well, it turns out that Sisu, the local stray dog, was the culprit and his mission was to covet the stuffed purple unicorn. Even though the purple unicorn seems like a random choice, it was not for Sisu. All five times that he entered the store, he immediately navigated to the Easter section and pulled the unicorn from the pile of stuffed animals.
Sisu is a one-year-old Lab Mix. Although Sisu’s motives for stealing the purple unicorn were unclear, an employee at the Duplin County Animal Services shelter suspects it reminds him of his former home. Knowing how much Sisu wanted the stuffed animal, the Animal Services personnel kindly bought the purple unicorn for him and Sisu and the purple unicorn have been inseparable ever since.
Currently, Sisu is undergoing training in order to correct some of his behavioural issues and the good news is he has been adopted, along with his cherished purple stuffed unicorn. They both have a forever home together!
