As I became familiar with CtK over the last couple years, I have developed some favourite spots to study. If you are new to the school, here are some places you might especially benefit from knowing a bit about.
This first one is pretty obvious, but the CtK library is a great place to sit down and get work done. Our amazing librarians, Mr. Fredette and Mrs. Puri, have created a calm, studious atmosphere fit for all types of study. The library is filled with countless resources to help you thrive, such as computers, printers, numerous books (obviously) and free internet. Did you know the library also offers study rooms? You can book a study room; a quiet isolated space where you can study alone or bring friends to study together. In a study room, you are provided with a desk, whiteboard and internet to optimize your studying capacity. Sometimes study rooms are fully booked and the library is busy. In that case, it could be a good idea to seek out an empty class or one that's not in session (with the teachers' permission of course). This can be a great place to study as it is often a spacious and quiet environment that can offer sanctuary to unrest minds. If there is nice weather outside, I personally love working in the sun. With the natural ambience of life moving around you, CtK has a beautiful park right next door where there are picnic tables perfect for hours of concentration. Though if you’d rather stay indoors, the chapel is a great spot to go to gather your thoughts. Be sure not to interrupt prayer services going on.
As the school year begins to come to a close, I hope everyone is ready to have a relaxing summer. We’re almost there, keep up the hard work Jags!
