Christmas is just around the corner! It is my favourite holiday because I spend time with all of my family, decorate my house and the tree, bake goods, and watch festive movies! Christmas takes place in the winter season, just at the end of the year. With the added feature of snow in Canada, it just makes Christmas feel that much more magical! The cherished holiday also comes with lots of traditions as well such as gift opening, meals, and something my family enjoys doing, driving around and looking at Christmas lights on Christmas eve.
Since Christmas is my favourite holiday, I figured I would share with you some of the best Christmas movies that you definitely should watch, and some of my favourite Christmas movies! As well as a delicious recipe that will put you in the Christmas mood!
Best Movies
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)
This movie is all about laughter, and the happy Christmas spirit. The warm welcoming feeling of family is what brings them all together in the end. The thing I love most about this movie is that it is based around Christmas and the Christmas season, but also has many good jokes and lots of iconic scenes.
Elf (2003)
Elf is a newer movie, but is still so good everytime I watch it! Will Farell plays this character, Buddy, perfectly, and I used to laugh at it so much when I was younger. This is another feel-good Christmas movie. The laughter, hard times, and silly mistakes Buddy the Elf has to go through, make it worth it in the end when he and his family come together for Christmas!
Christmas with the Kranks (2004)
Christmas with the Kranks is probably my favourite Christmas movie! I watch it at least three times every Christmas season. The film is hilarious in its attempt to forget about Christmas, especially with the Kranks’ tight-knit neighbourhood who refuses to let it happen.
Home Alone (1990)
Home Alone is another classic! It's all about a boy who gets left behind on his family's christmas vacation, and has to face bad christmas burglars. It was so cool watching him make up a plan to try and stop them, and the Christmas vibes and the jokes are such a great addition to bring the whole movie together. This is a great one to watch with your family!
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)
Lastly, the “meanest” Christmas movie out there! How the Grinch Stole Christmas may be an oldie for most of us, but it sure is a goodie! This movie is all about the Christmas spirit, and how the Grinch has none of it. Later in the movie with the help of a certain friend, he learns to love the holiday. It is a good movie that brings people together for the true meaning of Christmas.
Now, for a yummy recipe that will definitely get you into the Christmas spirit…How to make Snickerdoodles!
