Do you not have a clue what to get your friends for Christmas? Your family? Feeling overwhelmed with the amount of gifts you need to purchase or put together? Here are 5 easy gift exchange games that might save you stress this year.
Secret Santa: This is a classic game I’m sure most of us have played at least once before. It requires 4+ players and a bit of anonymity. You and your group of friends will put your names in some sort of draw. You can do this online or simply put your names in a hat. You all will pick names (if you draw your own name, draw again), but tell no one who you got! To whoever's name you have, you are now their Secret Santa. You should set a price limit with your group, to keep the game fair. Then let the gift hunting begin! When everyone done, your group can all meet somewhere to exchange gifts or you can leave your gift anonymously somewhere for your given person.
Holiday Dice Exchange: This game may work better with a smaller group of friends. Everybody will meet up somewhere and bring a gift with them (price limits are always a good idea). You will also need a di and a set of instructions corresponding to each number on it *see example below. Everyone will roll the di one at a time and follow their instructions until everyone is left with a gift.

White Elephant: White Elephant is a straightforward, yet fun game to play that should include 5+ players. Much like Holiday Dice Exchange, your group of friends will meet somewhere prepared with a gift. All gifts will be placed in a pile and all gifts must be completely wrapped. Everyone will receive a number, this can be done by a draw or getting a nonplayer to randomly number your group off. This number will dictate when you will choose a gift to open. For example: number one will open the first gift, but then number two has the option to steal their gift or open a new one. This continues until everyone has a gift. Hot Gift Potato: Hot Potato is a classic game that is sure to bring back childhood nostalgia. It works best with 3+ people, the twist is we will be using gifts instead of potatoes. You and your group of friends will sit in a circle, everyone would have brought a gift to this get-together. You can decide whose gift you’ll pass around first. You will pass a gift around the circle until your song or timer ends, and whoever is left with the gift gets to keep it and is out. Keep playing until everyone has a gift!
Trivia Gift Exchange: This game may be more fun to play with a larger group of people all contributing by bringing a bunch of little gifts. It’s quite simple, you and your group of friends will all pick a trivia topic. Someone will call out questions while the rest answer. If you are the first to answer a question correctly you get a prize. Keep playing until you’re satisfied with the turnout and all gifts are distributed.
